The Northlake Police Department will be participating in the Illinois Department of Transportation Holiday Enforcement program “Click it  or Ticket” beginning December 20, 2013 through January, 2014, as part of the department’s effort to keep motorists and city streets safer during the busy holiday season.

Northlake police officers will emphasize enforcement efforts toward DUI offenses and safety belt and child passenger restraint violations. The police department would like to remind you that whether you are traveling around Northlake or traveling long distance, please keep the following safety tips in mind:

  • Before the holiday festivities begin – plan a way to safely get home at the end of the night and always designate a sober driver.
  • Always wear your seatbelts – It doesn’t matter how far you are driving, who you are with or whether you are sitting in the front or back seat, it is important that you always buckle up for safety.
  • Encourage others to wear their seatbelt – If you are the driver, it is your responsibility to make sure that everyone is buckled up. Passengers that are not wearing their seatbelt can be equally fined.

If you have any questions or traffic concerns in your area, please contact Sgt. Byars at the Northlake Police Department at 708-531-5751

Drive Safe. Arrive alive.

Don’t be a statistic.
