The City’s newest park, a “pocket park” on Prater Avenue and Addison Creek,

will be dedicated on Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m.

“Pudgie Park” was created as a result of the donation of land by the family of Charles “Pudgie” Lederer to the City of Northlake. The 4,000 plus square foot parcel was developed with two purposes in mind: the first being storm water management; and the other to provide some alternative recreational space. The new park contains a small gazebo with a chess/checker table overlooking the creek.

The gazebo was built with materials salvaged from the Dominick’s distribution center by our public works department. The area was graded and landscaped by our public works department, so as a result, the cost of developing this green space was held to approximately $10,000.

Thank you to the Lederer family for the donation of this land to the City.
