The Public Works Department salvaged a flagpole from the former Inland Container property on Grand Avenue which is being redeveloped. The flagpole was moved to the Public Works facility where it replaced a wall mounted pole. The wall mounted pole was causing unneeded stress to the brickwork on the building and was in need of replacement.
The repurposed pole is aluminum and should see many years of service at its new home. Public works crews were also able to salvage other items from the Inland Container site as well. Once again, the crews from Public Works not only saved our residents money, but also benefitted the environment by reusing an item. The old wall mounted pole was recycled as well.
