Welcome to the Northlake Police Department Police Policy Transparency page. This new page was created in July 2020 to offer full disclosure of our policies and outcomes pertaining to Police Use of Force, Investigation of Use of Force and other pertinent policy.  Our Department believes transparency in police practices are a vital aspect of community-police relationship.

Policy development is made in cooperation with the voluntary process of National Law Enforcement Accreditation. Police accreditation is a process where police agencies in Illinois and nationally prove their compliance with over 450 National Law Enforcement Best Practice and Standards.  These Best Practices were carefully developed with guidance from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) to assist agencies in the efficient and effective delivery of service, the reduction of risk, and the protection of individual’s rights.

This page will be updated often as policy is improved and refined. Should you have any questions on these documents or our process, please direct them to the Office of the Chief of Police at:
