On October 17, the extensions to the City’s Midland Trail were dedicated with a ribbon cutting at Grant Park. Extensions were completed this year to the north and south ends of the trail. To the north, the trail was continued through the King Arthur complex across ComEd property and ending in Creekside Park on Rhodes Avenue. To the south, the trail was looped around the north and west sides of Grant Park to allow a complete circuit around the 14 acre park. The total length of the trail is now 3.2 miles. Both ComEd and the Veteran’s Park District were instrumental in making the extensions possible. Residents were given tours of the trail on golf carts after the ribbon cutting.

Attending the ribbon cutting are: State Representative Kathleen Willis, Alderman Rich Grochowski, 4th Ward, Alderman Francine Patti, 4th Ward, Alderman Thomas Padilla, 2nd Ward, Mayor Jeffrey T. Sherwin, Donna Peluso, Director of Veterans Park District, Alderman Paul Straube, 1st Ward, Tracy Domino,
