Donald Kent Building Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Donald W. Kent Building, a senior residence operated by Catholic Charities, celebrated its 10th anniversary on August 24th. The building, which contains 72 units, was built on the site of what contained 7 run down, problematic apartment buildings that the city of Northlake acquired and demolished, making the land available to Catholic Charities for development of the current building. The City entered into a 75 year lease for the land with Catholic charities. As a result of the lease, Northlake residents go to the top of the waiting list for available units. The Kent Building is part of the South Wolf Road renaissance which is a work in progress, with parks and other residential improvements taking place since the completion of the Kent Building.
