Homeland Security Threat Level Guidelines - Northlake Police Department Recommended Actions

Threat Level:   GREEN | BLUE | YELLOW | ORANGE | RED

YELLOW - ELEVATED THREAT

Recommended actions when there is a significant risk of terrorist attacks.

In addition to the Protective Measures taken in the previous Threat Condition and the functional-specific actions taken below:

1. Coordinate emergency plans with appropriate jurisdictions; and
2. Implement appropriate contingency and emergency response plans.

Recommended Action:

Continue or introduce all measures listed in Condition GREEN and BLUE advisories.

Maintain heightened awareness of people, vehicles, and activities. Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to a supervisor or the security department.

Conduct weekly inspections of the interior and exterior of buildings for suspicious packages.

Implement appropriate measures to control visitors.

Inspect and lock all buildings, rooms, offices and storage areas not in regular use daily.

Identify any planned events (meetings, customer visits, etc.) where a large attendance is anticipated. Consult with event organizers regarding security and contingency plans.

Review all plans related to the anticipated of a higher threat level. Implement as appropriate.
