                                            MINUTES OF THE 1,323TH MEETING OF

                                     CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE

                                             HELD ON MONDAY OCTOBER 1, 2007

 

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M.  Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

 

ROLL CALL:

 

PRESENT:     ALDERMAN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, DELGADO, PADILLA, NESSLING, RIESTERER, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI
 

OTHERS PRESENT:              FRED PAUL, TREASURER

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on September 17, 2007.  Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on September 17, 2007; seconded by Alderman Feldmann.  Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. There were two corrections.    Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote.  All were in favor.

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available and with the deletion of one item; seconded by Alderman Feldmann.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

The next Public Safety and Public Work Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October  3, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.

 

Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone that we are looking for volunteers for Boo Fest.

Mayor Sherwin presented the printing of the Northlake Directory.  Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the colored printing of 5,000 directories; seconded by Alderman Delgado.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin brought up the additional concrete work to be performed by Rohde Construction. Alderman Riesterer made a motion to approve, seconded by Alderman Padilla.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin brought up the addition of Rebecca Morgan and Veronica Budzon to The Youth Advisory Board.  Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Delgado.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll

Mayor Sherwin talked about the appointment of city council members to the License and

Inspectional Services Committee.  He said this committee has lapsed with all the change in election and we need to have members serve on this.  He asked who would be interested in serving.  Alderman Patti, Alderman Padilla, Alderman Nessling, Alderman Riesterer and Alderman Grochowski agreed to be on the committee.  Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the appointment of Alderman Patti, Padilla, Nessling, Riesterer and Grochowski to the License and Inspectional Services Committee; seconded by Alderman Padilla.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin brought up the motion to refer to the hearing officer a grievance regarding Sergeant Fazzi.  Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin presented Resolutions R-23-2007, R-24-2007, R-25-2007 and R-26-2007; Resolutions Allocating $360,000.00 in MFT Funds for Maintenance of Streets and Highways for the years 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.  Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Riesterer.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-29-2007, An Ordinance Rezoning the Property Commonly Known as 42-66 West North Avenue from R-1 to B-2; Approving the Preliminary Plat and Approving a Special Use.  Mayor Sherwin said the set back was dropped because there is a 10 foot utility easement in back of the property so they need to maintain at least a 10 foot easement for the utilities.    Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski.  Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

 Mayor Sherwin opened up the discussion to the public.

 

 

There being no further business, Alderman Patti made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Delgado.  Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote.  All were in favor.
