The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 3, 2008. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 3, 2008; seconded by Alderman Riesterer. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Chairman Patti stated that the Public Safety and Public Works Committee met on March 5, 2008.
Dale Roberts explained at the meeting the spread sheet he passed out showing the water main breaks throughout several years. Also discussed were the POD storage units. Information was provided. This will be put on our next agenda for April 2, 2008. Chief Koletsos explained the emergency services command center. Signs will be put up on Palmer that will state there will be no parking near the mailbox. ATVs were discussed and there is not much we can do as long as they are on private property. Dale talked about the sprinkler service at Public Works. The noise ordinance was also discussed. We are going with the recommendation from Mark Sterk and this will be put on the next council agenda. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to accept the Public Safety and Public Works Committee meeting held on March 5, 2008; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Mayor Sherwin said that the fees for the garbage need to be discussed. He said he is thinking to have the basic service $7.50, the second can will be $6.00 a month extra and the stickers would be $1.50. This will be put on the next agenda. Alderman Padilla said that a few senior citizens called him and said that during the week they only have 1 small bag of garbage and they don’t want to drag out the big garbage can. Alderman Padilla said that it is on wheels and is not difficult to move. Alderman Padilla suggested taking turns using someone’s can and putting it out each week.
Alderman Patti made a motion to destroy Executive Session tapes from January of 1997 thru December 2005 with the Exception of November 7, 2005; seconded by Alderman Delgado. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
