MINUTES OF THE FINANCE & RULES
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
HELD ON MONDAY, MAY 18, 2009
MAYOR SHERWIN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 6:30 P.M.
Clerk Floistad called for the roll.

The committee reviewed the minutes of the May 4, 2009 meeting. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 4, 2009 meeting; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.
Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Riesterer. Alderman Riesterer asked if the money for the Red Lights was money that the city received. This money goes to Red Light until we meet our cost. Alderman Grochowski asked about the bill for Cintas First Aid and Safety. Chief Koletsos said the contract has been cancelled and the Police Department will be doing this from now on. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
Mayor Sherwin presented the Commission Expenditures. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Commission Expenditures; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried
Under Unfinished Business;
Alderman Patti said that she put a spread sheet together regarding the expenses for the Gala for the New Police Station. Alderman Patti went over the costs of the different caterers. Mayor Sherwin said that because we are doing this so late, he thinks we will not be able to get sponsors and sell tickets. A discussion took place regarding trying to have this gala or just having a general Open House. It was decided just to have an Open House.
Under New Business;
Mayor Sherwin brought up Northlake Days. Alderman Patti asked why we have two Mexican vendors. Bill Kabler said he did not know. Mayor Sherwin said they are probably selling different food.
Mayor Sherwin presented the architects that will be designing the renovation to City Hall. A discussion took place regarding the plans for the renovation to City Hall once the Police Station moves to their new building. The alderman said we should accept these plans and go ahead.
There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Delgado. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
