Residential Alterations and Remodeling
To
expedite approval of your building permit, an application must be completed and submitted to the
Building Department. Most applications require one copy of your plat of survey.
On
all structural alterations, plans must bear the seal and signature of a licensed architect in the State
of Illinois and a statement that the plans comply with all Building Ordinances of the City of
Northlake.

All
contractors must be licensed and bonded to work in the City of Northlake. Inspection requests must be
received by the Building Department 24 hours before the requested date.
It
is the responsibility of the contractor to notify J.U.L.I.E. (1-800-892-0123) to advise when and
where excavating will be done.

at (708) 343-8700. The Department is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to
Noon on Saturday.
